Sketch Jam

I decided to Join Sketch Jam this quarter (though a bit late) and got some pretty decent sketches out of it. I seem to do much better work when I'm making something in a class of some sort than if it is just for myself. The one on the left is a picture of myself as a pirate and what I thought my job would be, and the second one is a villain character. I chose to do a mentally crazy dude who thinks he is Marry Poppins and kills little children who don't clean their rooms...and "helps the medicine go down" with a spoon full of cocaine.

Tuesdays are craft days.

I made some beads out of sculpy clay and went online to figure out how to make hemp bracelets. It took me a while, and the first one didn't turn out very good. But, I worked again on another one and they are starting to look like what I wanted them to. I had extra hemp in my junk box, so why not make stuff for free?

Just decided to create general fashions. Mostly because I wanted to paint something with my watercolors again.
Next time I'll come up with some better and crazy looking fashions like the ones that never make it into actual stores, but only on the runway of some rich person. If you got any ideas, throw 'em at moi!

3D modeling

I've been modeling a lot lately since I have a class on it this quarter. So far I actualy found myself prefering to model objects and structural things rather than characters...but only because the character never looks as good in 3D as id does on paper! It absolutely drives me nuts how they don't match up exactly to the image in my mind! arg! It just looks kinda like she's made out of plastic, though it probably looks better lit and textured.

Ps. Would have done a sweep behind her but was taking notes for the class and didn't have time. -_-.

I entered a contest yesterday, which was the deadline so I cut it close. I realized that I do like painting, but at the same time I hate starting to paint. Getting everything ready mixing the colors and trying to find someplace light enough to work. But at the same time i don't have to be in one spaot to work like on the computer. I don't have a labtop, so if I ever want to work on something I have to sit in my sister's room and work at the computer in a very uncomfortable chair...or at school. -_-.

Anyways, enough of my complaints. This is a painting I did for a character contest. I named it "The Huntress.". I painted "Chance" one of another artist's characters who is a vampire hunter that loves bright, girly colors and kicks butt, so on and so on. The prize is a hundred bucks, but I'm pretty sure I won't win it after looking at the recent competing entries. *shrugs* I tried at least.

This is the first time I've ever messed with the perspective. I saw an example of this fisheye pespective in a fantasy art book and I really wanted to mimic it. I't didn't turn out as nice as the drawing, but I still think it gives you that feeling of being drawn into the picture. Well that's my thing for today. I have a strong urge to sleep in a warm room now and wake up three or so hours latter.

Mass sketches.

I have a load of sketches I did these last two weeks so far. I mostly draw female characters so of course they're all over the place on here.

Prologue

Alas, I have started a blog. I have never created a blog before, so I am not quite sure what assignments will befall on me as of yet, but I will go blindly into it as anything else. Not that anyone talked me into it... In this blog you will find various entries of art and life related events.
